Stray animals that are rescued are housed in animal shelters. While most animals are adopted into loving forever homes, there are some animals that get left behind. Since most animal shelters are already overcrowded, some shelters tend to euthanize some of the animals that are not adopted at a given amount of time.
It’s unfortunate that animals with black fur are often picked to be euthanized because nobody wants them as pets. Most people tend to gravitate towards dogs and cats with different colored fur, and animals with black fur are disproportionately euthanized. Thankfully, there’s an animal rescue organization that pulls animals with black fur and is given another chance to find a loving forever home.
A tiny rescue dog named Butch was rescued by this particular animal rescue organization. The website of the animal rescue organization described Butch as a burrito of love, which caught the attention of a person named Cam. Cam immediately fell in love with Butch and applied to adopt her.
When Cam graduated from college, he considered himself as non-binary and was a little intimidated by the idea of taking hormones to begin the transition to become a male. Cam was a little unsure at first because he thought that Butch might change the way she acted towards him. Cam felt that he might smell different to Butch and that Butch won’t recognize him when his voice started changing.
However, Cam’s worries were instantly gone after learning the Butch was unfazed with the changes going on his body. Cam went through the process of change, and Butch was the only constant in his life that remained unchanged. Butch still loved Cam and is still very affectionate towards him. Cam considers Butch as his rock when he was going through the changes.
Butch is also super spoiled by Cam. From time to time, Butch would get a treat called “pawdicures,” where Cam and his partner would paint Butch’s nails and even put coconut oil on the pads of her feet. Butch loves it and would have a great time getting pampered by her parents. Although Butch loves getting pampered, she also loves going hiking, camping, and backpacking in the wilderness.
Butch is always there for Cam and serves as a motivator to get Cam through nursing school. Butch was always there to support Cam during his studies and make him feel at home. For Cam, Butch is the best thing that ever happened to him. Here’s a heartwarming video showing such an incredible support dog Butch became to Cam.
