As dog owners, we make sure that we treat our dogs as part of our family. They bring us genuine love and happiness that we can never experience in any other situation. If you’ve never experienced losing a pet dog before, then you can’t begin to imagine what it’s like to lose a beloved dog. It will most certainly be like losing a beloved member of the family.
Like most dog owners, a man named Alex knows first-hand what it’s like to lose a beloved pet dog when he lost his Chihuahua named Milo. Alex was devastated, and he can’t bring himself to adopt another dog. Alex was grieving, and he doesn’t know what will bring him out of that dark place in his life until he saw two adorable rescue puppies online.
The two rescue puppies were named Onyx and Branco, and they desperately needed a forever home. As soon as Alex saw Onyx and Branco, something in him told him that he needed to get the two puppies. Although Alex repeatedly said to himself that he couldn’t go through the pain of losing another beloved dog, seeing the two puppies changed his decision.
Alex ended up adopting Onyx and Branco. When Alex first got the two puppies, they were covered in fleas and were unsure of their environment. Eventually, the two puppies grew accustomed to their new home. Unfortunately, another problem arose shortly after Alex adopted the two puppies.
One of the puppies, Branco, became lethargic and refused to drink or eat. When Alex brought Branco to the veterinarian, Branco was diagnosed with parvovirus, which is a highly contagious virus and deadly in puppies. Branco had to be quarantined, and to avoid transmitting the virus to Onyx, Alex also needed to limit handling Onyx.
Branco required 24-hour care and Alex and his partner stayed up all night for an entire two weeks, making sure that Branco was given the best care. Thankfully, Branco made a full recovery and beat parvo. For Alex, adopting Branco and Onyx was one of the best decisions he ever made in his life.
Branco and Onyx took him out of the dark place he was in when he lost his beloved dog, Milo. After a few more weeks, Branco and Onyx started to develop their own adorable personalities and come out of their shell. Branco and Onyx complete Alex’s life. Here’s an adorable video showing how two rescues puppies helped heal their dad’s, broken heart.
